The day we went was national jr park ranger day, so it was free entry to the museums and an "easier" way to earn a badge. To earn today kids has to go to two sections of the camp and talk with reinactors and try out some games. Normally, they would have to fill out 3 or more sections of the booklet.
The boys thoroughly enjoyed the games. The played a game similar to horseshoes and bowling. They also held a musket.
At George Washingtons house we had to join an official tour. The house was large and typical of the time period. Large foyer with rooms on either side. It was interesting to hear of the cold and the issues that plagued the men (frozen ink!). Apparently they had close to 7 feet of snow that winter, something the tour guide just had to point out was similar to Boston's winter. To which, I say, we are done with winter and will no longer discuss it.
It was beautiful weather and spring had come!!
