Gross!!

I am on round 2 of washing diapers, currently I am doing a load every other day. This has worked out well so far and we haven't run out of diapers yet!

I was unloading the diaper pail into the laundry machine this morning and the odor was tremendous. I could not believe the stench that was in there. Granted I knew laundering my own diapers was going to be an adventure (no pun intended), but the stench, ugh! Oh well, I'm sure I will adapt and figure out how to best work through the issue. It should be exciting!

The diapers are being washed using a powdered form of Sun Detergent (found at WalMart) and stains are being treated (as needed) with BioKleen Bac-Out (found at Whole Foods). The BioKleen ($8) was almost as expensive as the Sun ($10 for 102 loads)!

Speaking of Whole Foods, well we weren't but I just thought about this, while looking for the Biokleen I also checked out their diaper selection. I was looking for diaper liners and found a biodegradable diaper. The diaper will compost after 50-150 days! It was said to be the middle ground between regular diapers and cloth. A pricey middle ground, it probably works out to be $20 for 3-4 days worth of diapers (and you cannot reuse them).
