Weighing in on the cloth....

I am now almost three weeks into using cloth diapers. We do not use cloth exclusively, we put J in disposables at night, one because we have a bunch still and two I think the disposable will hold more. I can double up the liner of the diaper, but that makes the diaper really bulky, especially considering how small J is still. We've also gone away and decided that we didn't want to bring the cloth with us due to space and the fear of the smell in the car on the way home!

We went to the doctors for J's one month check up and found he is 10 lbs 11oz. This means that he can wear the Happy Heinys for a little bit longer, they suggest that when he reaches 16lbs he should wear mediums. At that point I will be down 3 diapers and currently we are not using the Mother's Touch diapers because they are super bulky on him, so that will put us at 14 diapers...I need to invest in a couple more, I think.

I really like the way the Happy Heinys fit, I may get a couple size medium or one size, it will depend on the price. What's hard is trying to justify the sized diapers (because the child will grow out of them), although they get less use and may last longer/better for the next child.

Other cloth news, J's doctor thought that his diapers were cute and wondered where I found them... I am not sure if she realized they were cloth! Several of our friends have remarked that they look soft and comfortable. The microfiber cloth and fleece that lines the diapers is super soft and with each washing they get softer.
