Oh, how we regress....

And we're done sleeping in cloth. I hate the disposables. When he crawls around the house his diapers (disposables) leak. When he jumps in his jumperoo the cloth leak. When his bum is red and raw from diaper rash, he needs Mylanta and is back in disposables. Today, I was really surprised when I was told to use Mylanta on the baby's bottom. The nurse at the doctor's office said I could use that or Maalox. I looked at both products and determined that the baby did not need a minty-fresh smelling bottom and Mylanta was the only product that came with an "original" flavor.

Mylanta, when rubbed on the rash, fights the acid in his stools and makes his bum feel better. I am also using a new product recommended by my day care provider. It's by California Baby, I use it on his flannel wipes (which is nice to be using something that I can wash), it smells great, and I found a place on line that sells it cheaply (if it gets here in a decent amount of time I'll pass along their name)! Aside from smelling great, there are no harsh chemicals so it's nicer for his poor little bottom. Hopefully this will help. Tomorrrow the plan is to celebrate the big 3-0, go to the aquarium, maybe have some cheesecake, and put the baby back in cloth and use some liners to protect the diaper from the Mylanta and aquaphor we're using. Unfortunately, many diaper rash creams are no good for cloth diapers. So, using a liner helps protect the diaper!
