Summer Fun

Happy Summer and Happy Father's Day! Little man and I are staying home for church today recuperating from the abundance of nice weather yesterday! Well, not really, the little guy had a horrid stomach virus that he passed off to me, so we made the executive decision to continue recuperating away from thousands of people. Yesterday was the lone sunshiney day of the past 4 to 5 days and will be the only sunshiney day until next weekend (sigh).

Yesterday we celebrated little man's first birthday with family and friends. He had so much fun. The poor guy was exhausted afterward. He barely made it through his cake time. He didn't get to eat his birthday cake (how sad, right?), but he enjoyed the frosting (milk/soy free) off of a chocolate, homemade, cupcake (milk/soy free). He cried when I cut the cupcake in half, I was trying to make it easier for him to eat it, I guess he wanted to be a big boy. He did get icing all over his face and looked quite cute.

Since this is a cloth diapering blog, and the first official day of summer, I wanted to share this picture from the beach, little man is sporting an Imse Vimse swim diaper. It is very soft and you do not need to put a regular diaper on him when he's wearing it. In this particular picture he is wearing a swim diaper underneath (since we were far from home in this pic and the swim diaper is still rather large). I cannot wait to go to the beach again this summer.

Back to today. This morning he woke up bright and early (5:40), had some quality time with the vacuum (it's our preferred ant removal system). He loves the way it sounds and follows it around the house. Well, he follows his daddy around the house pointing at the vacuum the whole way. It's very cute. He also spent some time digging through his new toy chest (made by Grandpa D) and playing with the new toys.
