Camping in cloth

Yep. You read that right, we camped in cloth diapers! Well, only the little one was in cloth diapers. We actually used g-diaper inserts as a "catch-all" inside our bum genius 3.0s pocket. It worked out really well, the diapers were not too stinky and we didn't go through a ton of pockets. (You only have to change the pocket if it gets wet or dirty with poo)

We decided that we do like g-diapers, they're good for the earth and if you're a gardener you can put the non-pooey ones into your compost pile as they decompose in 90-100 days.

As far as camping goes, we had a great time with Northern Baby and family. We were able to go to a working farm and make felted balls out of sheep wool. We also visited with many cows and calves. Little man enjoyed running through the premise and was none too pleased to be sitting in a stroller. Once back at base camp, we roasted hot dogs over the hot fire and with dreams of s'mores cooking, we learned of a massive thunderstorm heading our way. Since everything closes at 5 where we were camping, we sat in our cars and played card games, and this little piggy. During the storm, our tent decided that it did not want to withstand the pressures of the monsoon and we had puddles. Water leaked through the seams by both doors and one window. Luckily it wasn't too bad. We had soaking wet towels (especially after storm #2), but Kevin, being very handy with rope, a poncho, and a foot rest from our camp chairs, was able to rig up a quasi-water resistant area so that we didn't get as much water as possible in our tent for storm #2.

Today was beautiful, the weather was agreeable to things drying quickly. After many loads of laundry (I think we're on #4), I am off to do a load of cloth diapers.
