Every good camping trip has a campfire. Sometimes there are trips where you cannot sit near it due to the heat and humidity of the current weather conditions. Other times it is so cold and the campsite is not equipped with a good fire pit...thus everyone is cramped together infringing on a small square trying their hardest to get some heat from the flames while trying not to have their fleece melt (true story my fleece hoodie has a hole in the hood from a spark). Anyway, as I was saying a good campfire is a must and to get a good fire one must be adept at starting the fire. Luckily we bring lots of men on these trips who all enjoy bringing out their inner pyro. To start the fires this trip we stuffed cardboard toilet paper tubes with dryer lint -- Sans toilet paper--. The results were quite good!! If you follow the link above, you'll see that they also use wax, twine and vacuum sealer...I said too much work, especially since this is not for an emergency pack.
